Who we are

I am Jim Breau, owner and chief technologist of Stone Hound Sound. I have been working with music and technology for over twenty years. I recieved my associates degree in Computers & electronic tech from Devry in fall of 2002. Out of school I worked as a field technician installing monitoring equipment inside televisions for the Nielsen Ratings company until late 2006. I Have been playing music professionally since 2004 with my band The Stolen Winnebagos.

In late 2012 I opened my recording studio Stone Hound Productions.

In late 2019 I completed a two year apprenticeship with Neil Preston of Preston Electronics learning the ins and outs of music electronics repair. In my time there I worked with many brands including Fender, Marshall, Yamaha, Roland, Korg, Vox, Nord, Crate, Peavey, Line 6, Mackie, Egnater, QSC, etc. I also received my certification with the International Society of Certified Electronic Technicians .

At the beginning of 2020 I opened the doors to Stone Hound Sound pro audio repair & recording. I am eager to serve the Kansas City area and beyond. I look forward to meeting you and servicing your audio repair and recording needs!
